VH1's "Music First"
Apparently Roger's not getting tired of saying how much he "loves musicals"... In yesterday's edition of VH1's "Music First" Roger said about Queen's musical: "It is a good show. I mean, I have a high, I have a very irritable, irritable cringe factor, you know? And I don't like musicals, but I tell you what, I like this one. And it is, it's funny, it's got a lot to say. You will see before your very eyes the extermination of all boy bands. It's uplifting, and it's fun, and it's funny, and I can't say anything more than that."

The full list is Alex Ubago, Azúcar Moreno, Chayanne, Dave Stewart, Diego Torres, Enrique Iglesias, Franco de Vita, Jarabe de Palo, Joaquín Cortés, Luis Cobos, Monstserrat Caballé, Malú, Maná, Miguel Bosé, Miguel Rios, Paco de Lucía, Queen, Revolver, Ricardo Montaner, Shakira and Zucchero. Happy Birthday, Roger!

July 24, 2004
There weren't any news this week apart from Brian's note on his soapbox that the 46664 Latino concert seems to take place as planned on 21 August in Benidorm.

And of course a very (though belated) "Happy Birthday, Brian!"

46664 Latino
It is (sadly) possible that the 46664 Latino concert might not take place in Benidorm and has to move. Brian heard that the Mayor of Benidorm has severely let them down on the city's commitments to the cause. Still they will do everything to make the show happen somehow. Brian will add more information on his website as he has them. (source)

Live Aid DVD release
The entire 1985 Live Aid concert is to get a release on DVD on November 10th. According to Billboard Magazine, Warner Vision International has won the bidding to release a four-disc package. Alongside both concerts the package will also include a docutmentary titled "Food, Trucks & Rock 'n' Roll". (source)

There are going to be a couple of new releases towards the end of this year to look forward to:
The Milton Keynes Show (June 5, 1982) will be released entiteled "Queen On Fire At The Bowl" (November/December).
Also the long awaited DVD of the spectecular Live Aid concert will see the light of day around Christmas. On this so called Dual Disc side one will feature the video version and side two contains the DVD-audito version in DTS sound.
AND the 46664-studio album will be released.

Touring rumours/New single?
Touring rumours have been denied by Brian. The next events will be the Benidorm concert and the openings of WWRY in Las Vegas, Moscow and Cologne (source). See the message board for the whole article.
Also the rumour that there is going to be a Paul Oakenfold remix of "Invincible Hope" was denied by Brian (source) - at least this is good news!

The Wire Daisies
It's still not too late to enter the competition to win tickets, flights and accomodation for their gig at the Montreux
Jazz Festival on July 17th. The winner will be announced on Monday 12, July on their message board.
If you happen to be in London on Monday evening go to the Jamies bar in Charlotte St. W1. The band will celebrate the launch of "Make Everything Change" with a free gig!

Vegas Tickets for Fan Club members
Jacky updated the information of those who intend to visit the final preview of the Las Vegas show. Please go to the fanclub's website for full details.

Queenonline launched a new community section. It starts off with a lovely competition that gives you the chance to win Roger's solo back catalogue. I'd problably go for answer # 3.

"I have a very well-developed cringe factor when it comes to musical theater," says Queen drummer Roger Taylor, by phone from Las Vegas, where he's promoting the Aug. 16 debut of "We Will Rock You," at the Paris Las Vegas. "You know, when people just break into song."
This is part of an interview Roger and Brian did with Tony Hicks for Contra Costa Times. Read the whole interview on Brian's website.
