A Tribute to Michelle Bruheim (1986 - 2005)
"Friends of Michelle, who met her on the UK/Irish leg of the Queen + Paul Rodgers' Tour, have set up a 'tribute' site. Basically a place where people can leave messages and upload photos as there are so many photos of her out there. The site went live today. Please sign the Book of Condolences and enjoy the many photographic memories.
There is a lovely letter from Michelle's father, Arne Bruheim, giving details of the funeral, which is tentatively scheduled for next Friday, 26 August, probably in Oslo, and he has extended a warm welcome to Michelle's friends in the Queen community.
Thanks from
Sarah, Sam, Alessia and Jamie"

R.I.P. MICHELLE.... TAKEN TOO SOON (source)
To Brian, the band, the crew and all the people she knew and loved amongst you.

Yesterday, Wednesday August 17th 2005, Michelle had a fatal work accident at her second job at D'light where she worked daytime. I got know about his terrible thing while talking to her mother today when trying to call Michelle. I was her close friend and Sales Manager. I will really miss her.

According to Michelle, Queen was her second family. She was unable to work when you played in London this summer. I had to wipe her tears that evening, reassuring her that she surely would see you on stage another time. I was terribly wrong.

She was involved in the unloading of some heavy stage equipment from a truck. Something slipped and Michelle was hit. She died before the ambulance arrived a few minutes later.

A Roger-signed drumstick has been put on eBay in aid of Edward’s Trust charity - a charity that cares for children and families during child illness and bereavement.

Sue"

Note from Brian's webmistress: "This is a genuine item - I was there - signed in an aftershow meeting at L2, Liverpool, 27 March 1999!!! Photos of the meeting exist... witnessed by at least 6 people." (Private bids can be mailed HERE / source)

Top gear - Greatest driving song
Over 2 million viewers voted for the Top Gear's Greatest Driving Song and Queen's "Don't stop me now" made the No. I spot. This is how the item went on TV... slightly irreverent, but totally tongue-in-cheek.....

TOP GEAR: Of course we did have an award made but then we ran into a bit of a problem. We did, because you see Brian May, the guitarist with Queen says he doesn't like THAT song (?!!), Freddie Mercury's sort of dead, we couldn't remember the other bloke's name actually so it couldn't go to him, so that just left the drummer, who in accordance with EU Rock Star Regulations was floating around the Med on his yacht.

[Scene switches to a quayside... somewhere on the Med.]
Right... in a moment we're going to present Roger Taylor with this Greatest Driving Song Trophy, which we purchased for the princely sum of 699 pence. The only slight problem is the local engraver is a bit rubbish frankly, and he's left the DON'T out of "Don't Stop Me Now" - for crying out loud.

[On deck...]
Roger Taylor, on behalf of Top Gear I'd like to present you with this Greatest Driving Song In The World Ever Award. It's to you and the other members of Queen for "Stop Me Now". I'm sorry it's such a poor quality trophy.

ROGER TAYLOR: No, no, no. no, don't say that. No actually, do. Yeah, we'll treasure this for ever and it'll go into our enormous Gong Cupboard and thank you on behalf of the band. Thank you so much to your viewers.

(Ed: with thanks from brianmay.com! I hope to add the video of this very soon. So check back!)
