Foo Fighters
joined by Queen legends
Brian May and Roger Taylor rock Hyde Park
Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor joined the Foo Fighters onstage
tonight (June 17) for the band's biggest ever UK show at Hyde Park.
Dave Grohl's group teamed up with the pair for a special version of
'Tie Your Mother Down' during the encore, with Taylor Hawkins taking
up the vocal duties. The drummer surprised the crowd when he came
onstage and chanted the late Queen singer's famous 'A-ho' intro before
he announced: "I'm gonna dedicate this song to Freddie Mercury.
This one is for you my friend. I know you're up there. Unfortunately
I gotta sing it." Roger Taylor then performed the intro to 'We
Will Rock You' until May and the remaining members of the Foo Fighters
joined in for 'Tie Your Mother Down'. (source and full article here) |

Just a bit of gossip....
Roger was spotted visiting the Guns 'n Roses gig at Hammersmith Odeon
last Wednesday with Brian.
Chronicle
& Echo reported that he also attended a a Grand Prix charity
ball, hosted by former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. The Althorp
ball raised money for the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation, a charity set
up in memory of the former Soviet president's wife, who died of leukaemia
in 1999. A spokesman for the Grand Prix ball's organisers said: "There'll
be wonderful entertainment, fantastic food and loads of celebrities.
It will be a really stunning event." Music at Althorp was provided
by hip-hop stars the Black Eyed Peas, while 1970s' soul band Earth
Wind & Fire. The event was held the day before the F1 British
Grand Prix, which attracted fans from all over the world. |
